Red Alder

Red Alder is one of the most heart warming species. Alder wood is white when harvested but changes to a beautiful light brown with a red tinge when exposed to air

Wenge

The grain of Wenge is generally straight with some wave. The color is a rich dark brown to black with fine grain.

 

 

Hard Maple

Maple is the most commonly used wood in butcher block construction. It is pink brown to white with tight grain and beautiful variety.

 

Cherry

Cherry varies from rich red to light browns tied together with creamy whites. Cherry naturally has pith checks and will develop an antique like patina.

 

 

Douglas Fir

Douglas Fir is one of the most recognized wood species in the world. Fir has orange red to red brown tones and is generally straight and close grained.

 

 

Walnut

Walnut is light brown to dark chocolate brown.  It has a rich lustrous patina with unique figure.

 

 

Teak

Teak wood has a beautiful golden to dark brown color although it is sometimes reddish brown, with a typically straight grain. Because of its natural oils, teak is very durable and resistant to moisture.
